Cannabis 2.0 – What Is It?

It’s been almost a year since the launch of Cannabis 2.0 on October 17, 2019 and we have come a long way since then. But to understand how far we’ve come, you need to know where we started.

Low and slow

Just like how anyone new to cannabis should start low and slow and build their tolerance, the Canadian government seems to have taken a similar approach to the method through which they’ve allowed cannabis product categories to enter the legal market.

The first smokable products on the market were just flower and pre-rolls, with a maximum THC potency of around 25-30%, but with the launch of “Cannabis 2.0” we are starting to push into the 40-50% potency with hash, 60-70% for products like Rosin and BHO and even up to 80-90% with distillate products in 510 cartridges.

Cannabis 2.0 products

Originally, when 2.0 launched, we only had a small handful of edible products like soft chews and chocolates, a couple types of mints and just one cookie option. We also had 510 cartridges and disposables brought to market.

Since 2.0 launched, we have seen a steady flow of new products introduced into the market. The product offering has expanded into hot and cold beverages, infused powders, topicals and concentrates on their own like kief, hash, rosin and resin.

The future of cannabis

The best part about 2.0? It was just a stepping stone; the future of cannabis products is looking just as exciting! And with more dabbable concentrates on the way, there is no better time than now to invest in a dab rig set up for yourself or your favourite stoner for the holidays!
