Cooking with Cannabis: Creamy Avocado Mousse

At some point in our stoner careers, most of us have probably had an experience, good or bad, with the classic “special brownies”. Whether infusing your own butter or oil, or just throwing together a quick firecracker, edible cannabis can be a very unique experience for people.

When you smoke cannabis, it enters your bloodstream through your lungs and goes straight to your brain for immediate THC effects. When consumed in edible forms, the cannabinoids have to be processed by your stomach and sent to your liver before it can enter your bloodstream. Your liver also metabolises the THC into 11-hydroxy-THC which is far more potent.

More potent? Sounds perfect, right? Maybe, maybe not… the problem is the hassle! Not everyone has the time or space (it can fill your house with a very noticeable smell) to decarb their own and concoct a nice edible.

That’s why companies like The Green Organic Dutchman (TGOD) have released products like their THC infused powders! 10mg per package and ready to go, these Crystal Light type sachets can be added to any food or drink with ease. Dissolvable, tasteless and calorie-free you can elevate anything you’re craving with THC, like this creamy avocado mousse from TGOD:

Note: If you are new to cannabis edibles, make sure to start low and go slow. The THC content of this recipe is 10mg of THC per serving. If you would like to decrease the amount of THC, use only a portion of the sachet or divide this recipe into smaller portions.
